Bento.me shut down on 13 February 2026. We checked on 14 October 2026: bento.me, any bento.me/yourname and even the shutdown page itself answer with a permanent redirect (HTTP 301) to Linktree's homepage, not to your profile. Even if you moved to Linktree, your old link sends people to its sign-up page.

This guide explains what happened, what you can recover and where to rebuild your page. It is written by Kasbu, which is part of the comparison. That is why every price comes from each product's official website, checked on 14 October 2026, and every outside fact links to its source.

What was Bento.me?

Bento was a link in bio service that showed your links, photos, music and social profiles as a grid of blocks in different sizes instead of a list of buttons. In February 2023 it raised $1.6 million in a pre-seed round led by Sequoia Arc (TechCrunch). Its widgets included Spotify, YouTube, GitHub, maps, Calendly, Figma, Substack and Instagram (landing.bento.me).

Many people used it as a portfolio: "bento.me portfolio" is one of the searches Google suggests most often about Bento, in Spanish and in English.

Linktree kept Bento running for almost two years and eight months. The shutdown notice promised an email with instructions to move to Linktree and a "special Linktree Pro offer". The terms of that offer were never published, and we have found no evidence that Linktree moved Bento pages over to its service automatically.

Where your bento.me link goes today

To Linktree's homepage, with its sign-up button. Every bento.me/yourname still out there is a visit you lose. Check:

Two things people say about Bento that aren't true

"bento.me links don't go anywhere anymore." They go to linktr.ee with a 301 (checked on 14 October 2026).

"Your bento.me link redirects to your new Linktree." No. Every bento.me URL leads to the same Linktree homepage, whoever the link belongs to.

Where Kasbu isn't the best choice

The full comparison, with 10 alternatives: Bento.me alternatives in 2026.

Kasbu, specifically

Kasbu is a grid of cards you drag and resize, with 8 columns on desktop and 4 on mobile, and the two layouts are independent: the mobile version is not a shrunken copy of the desktop one.

Kasbu is not owned by Linktree.

How to rebuild your page

  1. Create your free account at kasbu.bio/register and try to keep the same name: bento.me/yourname becomes kasbu.bio/yourname if it's available.
  2. Start with the big blocks: an image card with your photos. With 2 or more images it turns into a carousel.
  3. Paste each link into a link card. Kasbu fetches the title, the preview image and the icon on its own.
  4. Rebuild your widgets with the matching card (table below).
  5. Use a separator card for section titles and a text card for notes.
  6. Switch to the mobile view and arrange it separately.
  7. Replace your bento.me link everywhere (list above) and download your new QR code from Settings.

If you moved to Linktree: open your Linktree in another tab and paste each link into a Kasbu card. Keep the Linktree until all your bios point to the new page.

If you don't have your links at hand: Bento only held links. Your Spotify, YouTube, GitHub and social profiles still exist. Recover the links from your bios, your screenshots or the Internet Archive by searching for bento.me/yourname: some public pages were saved, not all of them, and the images don't always load.

The full step-by-step guide: How to migrate from Bento.me.

Does Kasbu work as a portfolio?

Yes. Image carousels, Figma, Behance and GitHub cards, the résumé card and up to 3 pages per profile on the free plan cover most portfolios. You can browse real pages made with Kasbu before signing up.

Don't let it happen again

Bento had Sequoia Arc funding and still closed less than three years later. No company can promise it will be around forever, us included. What you do control:

Frequently asked questions

When did Bento.me shut down?

On 13 February 2026, almost two years and eight months after Linktree announced the purchase in June 2023. The shutdown was announced on 18 December 2025, with 57 days' notice.

Can I recover my Bento page?

Not from Bento: the shutdown notice said user and profile data would be deleted on 13 February 2026. Rebuild it from your bios, your screenshots or the Internet Archive.

Did Linktree move my Bento page over automatically?

There's no evidence of that. Bento's notice promised an email with instructions and a Linktree Pro offer whose terms were never published.

Is Kasbu really free? What's the catch?

The free plan doesn't expire and includes 25 cards and 3 pages per profile, 2 profiles, all 36 card types, all design options, a QR code and a Wallet pass. What it doesn't include: visitors see a small button with the Kasbu logo, analytics only show today's breakdown and files are capped at 150 MB. Pro ($4.99/month or $54.99/year, with a 14-day trial the first time) removes the branding and adds unlimited cards and pages, a custom domain, 7, 30 and 90-day analytics, 30 GB and up to 10 profiles.

Does it work for businesses or only for creators?

Both. There are WhatsApp, phone, email, map, product and WiFi network QR cards, which cover a one-page business mini site.

What if I'm looking for someone else's Bento page?

It no longer exists: bento.me/theirname opens Linktree's homepage. Look for their new link in their Instagram, TikTok or X bio.
